This article underlines that, as part of the development of China’s CATV network, large-scale FTTH construction should be on the agenda. Depending upon market demand, cable industry development, the maturity of industry product lines, the availability of FTTH standards and field test experience etc., FTTH development has great potential in China. This article accordingly indicates the issues that FTTH strategy should solve.
